National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme

A scheme called National Means cum Merit Scholarship has been implemented by MHRD, New Delhi for the students studying in Std. 9 with the objective of reducing the drop out rate in secondary and higher secondary schools. Is. State Examination Board, Gandhinagar will conduct an examination on Sunday 8/09/2071 to select the beneficiary students for this scholarship. Must be filled online during 16/12/2030.

Scholarship amount and payment rules :

  • After the examination, the students who come in merit in the district-wise fixed quota will be given a monthly stipend of Rs. 1000 per annum. Scholarships will be available to eligible students for four years as per 12000.
  • Scholarships will be paid to eligible students by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD), Government of India, New Delhi as per the guidelines of MHRD.
  • Scholarship amount will be transferred directly to the bank account of the beneficiary students through MHRD through National Scholarship Portal.

Student Qualification :

  • Students who are studying in Government Primary Schools, Local Body Schools (District Panchayat / Municipal / Municipal School) and Granted Primary Schools in Std. 8 in the current academic year will be able to appear for the NMMS examination.
  • General Category and OBC The student of the category should have obtained at least 5% marks or equivalent grade in Std-7. Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students should have obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent grade in Std-7.
  • Only students whose parents' annual income does not exceed Rs. 1,50,000/- will be able to appear for this examination.
  • Students of private schools (private schools / self finance schools), Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and residential schools run by state government institutions which provide accommodation, meals and study facilities will not be able to fill up the application form in this examination.

Income limit :

The annual income of the guardian of the candidate should not exceed Rs.1,50,000/- as decided for the examination of NMMS. A certified copy of the guardian's annual income sample must be attached with the student's application form. (Example of an official authorized by the government should be attached)

Exam Fee :

  • General Category and OBC Examination fee for category students will be Rs.70/-.
  • P.h., S.C. And S.T. Examination fee for category students will be Rs.50/-.
  • The service charge will have to be paid separately.
  • Fees paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Fee Acceptance Center :

  • After filling the application form in the computerized post offices of Gujarat as the fee acceptance center, the fee can be printed and the fee can be paid. Two of the three-part printed currency will be returned by the post office. The post office will have to check whether the fee has been paid from the confirmation number along with the receipt given by the post office.
  • You can also pay the examination fee through ATM CARD / Net Banking through online payment gateway. Click on “Print Application / Challan” to submit the fee online and fill in the details. Then click on Online Payment. Then select the appropriate option from the options of Net Banking Of Fee or other payment mode in the given options and fill in the next details. After depositing the fee, you will be written on the screen that your fee has been credited and you will get an e-receipt to print. If there is any defect in the process, it will be seen on the screen that your fee has not been paid.
  • If the e-receipt is not generated within 2 hours after deducting the fee amount from his bank account, the online fee payer will have to contact the State Examination Board immediately by e-mail.

Course:

  • 20 questions of MAT Intellectual Aptitude Test will be of literal and non-verbal logical calculation. These questions will include Analogy, Classification, Numerical Series, Pattern Perception, Hidden Figure etc.
  • The 30 questions of the SAT Educational Aptitude Test will include Std-7 and Std-8 Mathematics, Science and Social Science subjects.
    • There will be a syllabus of last academic year for Std-7.
    • The first semester of the current academic year will be for Std-8.

Qualifying marks :

General and OBC Students of the category will have to get a total of 40% marks in both the sections and SC And ST Students of the category will have to get a total of 32% marks in both the sections. Out of the students who get the qualifying marks, only the students who come in merit as per the quota decided by the district-category will be eligible for the scholarship.

P.h. Category classification:

  • P.h. The category will be categorized into different subcategories as shown below.
    • a) Blindness and Low Vision (BLV)
    • b) Deaf and hard of hearing (DH)
    • c) Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy (LD)
    • d) Autism, intellectual disabilities, specific learning disability and mental illness (AID)
    • e) Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (a) to (d) including deaf-blindness in the posts identified for each disabilities (MD)

Test structure :

  • The medium of examination will be English as well as Gujarati. The question paper of the medium whichever medium the student chooses will be given.
  • This test will be Multiple Choice Question-MCQ Based.
  • Each question will have one mark.
  • There will be no negative assessment in the assessment of these tests.
  • Blind students will be given an additional 30 minutes.

Required grounds / certificates :

The following grounds / certificates should be attached with the print of the application form filled online.
  • Fee payment currency (SEB copy only)
  • Certified copy of income proof (Government certified officer's attachment must be attached)
  • Standard-7 marksheet or equivalent proof or example
  • Certified copy of Certificate of Caste (Certificate of Government Authorized Officer shall be attached) (if applicable)
  • Certified copy of Disability Certificate (if applicable)

School procedures :

It will be the sole responsibility of the school to fill up the application forms for the students online. All the online application forms filled by the school are signed by the principal and the required bases / certificates Must be submitted to the office of Taluka Primary Education Officer / Govt. Officer by 26/12/2020.

Important Notices ::

  • If the student or the school sends their application directly to the State Examination Board, it will be considered canceled.
  • The application form has to be filled accurately online. The name, surname, date of birth, caste or any other matter will not be later amended by the Board to take special note.
  • SC, ST as well as PH category students are required to upload the certificate as well as proof of income on the website.
  • Certificates and income samples uploaded by SC, ST as well as PH category students will be the responsibility of the concerned.
  • If there is any name, surname, date of birth, caste or any other mistake while filling the form or the name of the student entering Aadhaar Dias number does not appear then the student should contact the principal of the school where he is currently studying and correct the details of Aadhaar Dias number by the principal. The application form can be filled up 24 hours after the amendment.
  • Any mistake made in the last day of filling the application form will not be taken into consideration. Therefore, the person filling the form will have to amend the Aadhaar Dias keeping in view the time limit of the application form. It will be the responsibility of the school principal to make the correction.
  • If you find any difficulty in filling the application form, contact us on the phone number given on the website.
  • Efforts should be made to ensure that maximum number of students appear in the examination by giving a press note regarding the publication of the announcement in the educational magazines / newspapers published from the district level.
  • In the interest of the students, efforts should be made to fill up the application forms of at least 5 students from each school in the district.
